I love this serie so much that I think you were really harsh, but I have to
agree on most points ( and I'm not one of those hardcore fans who would kill you
for this score :P).
Hum, about the "unnecessarily complexity", that's Hideaki Ano's way to
do, you're right it sacrifices entertainment value, but not for everyone. And I
don't think you should compare Rahxephon and Gundam Seed to Evangelion the way
you do, in entertainment value sure ( actually Rahxephon is my all-time fav ),
but for obvious reasons not in "depth and maturity" ( I don't say one
is deeper than another, I just think you can't compare because the themes are
completely different).
And about the:
1. What they just saw was incredibly deep and intense, but...
2. They're not quite sure why.
You're right, a few shows are like that, but I would add
3. There is no absolute answer, but if you found your own answer after watching
the show many times, then the show was definitely great, at least for you ^^.
Yes, the script isn't meant to be liked by a large audience, but I think it's a
good thing the Gainax script writers work not only to sell ( the weird thing is
that actually a lot of people like this serie, but not for what it is, good for
Gainax though ^^ ).

Completely agree with AH-Zeruel, the storyline is really pleasant and there is
still more to think than to see. One of the greatest show ever... of course not
everyone can like it , so it's nice to see a different opinion ^^. lol I like WHR too, but I don't
see any common point, excepts that it's sunrise of course .
Nice review, but a bit early since I don't think you can separate the two
seasons ^^. Hum, the manga is a lot better I think, the serie is still
interessant though, but it looses a bit of his impact if you watch the censored
version. ( sorry for my english ).
Nice review for a wonderful anime, though I would have given higher rates, Abe's
art just rules and the OST is awesome ^^. This serie can't be overrated .

nothing I can find to add or remove. And 9.66... is not overrated, it's really
one of the best of Miyazaki, which means one of the best animated film ever ^^.

Yeah thanks for the nice review for a fantastic anime, but : I think like ppl
above that the OST has great songs and the OP and ED theme songs match the show
perfectly. About the graphics, you didn't speak about the CGs which are very
well integrated. You also didn't speak of the manga which I recommand to
everyone who liked the anime and which art is even better and overall a bit more
adult. Original story by Shin Takahashi, anime by Gonzo.

Btw, a two part OVA of Saikano and a live-action are sheduled for 2005 .
